| To support their autumn mitigation plan Network Rail have developed some web based applications to aid decision making in times of severe weather. The leaf fall forecasts compiled by ADAS are now distributed automatically via a web site www.SMTleaffall.co.uk to all those who register. This site has been developed substantially to enable the industry to access the latest information, 5 day forecasts, and railhead monitoring pages. Their existing live weather date web site, www.SMTweather.co.uk has also been upgraded to include standard Google mapping and a 3 month archive facility. It is also possible to access the site via Blackberry to interrogate up to 150 weather stations across the network for the latest live weather data, updated every hour and available for the previous 24. | ||||||
