Managing Low Adhesion Manual & CD Since the Adhesion Working Group was formed, significant progress has been made with the industrys ability to successfully manage low adhesion. Loss of adhesion still causes significant train delays and is responsible for a number of safety incidents each year but, through a continuous programme research, important developments are being made to combat this problem. This edition updates the AWG's Low Adhesion Manual first issued in May 1997. It summarises our current knowledge and has been designed to aid those responsible for managing low adhesion. It is hoped that managers tasked with dealing with low adhesion will find it a useful aid to understanding why low adhesion is a problem, identifying where and under what conditions it arises, and the range of control measures currently available. AWG welcomes further input from the industry at large, at home and abroad, it is often those at the sharp end who have the best ideas to offer. The AWG Manual is available on a CD-ROM which also contains back issues of Gripping Stuff Please contact the AWG Secretary for further details. The Manual will be updated and re-issued to sponsoring companies on a regular basis. View or download sample pages by clicking on the images below. The full version is available in the Members' Area.
